Scottsdale is one of the most well known cities that comprise the Phoenix Metro Valley of the Sun. It is less than a 15 minute drive from Sky Harbor Airport and downtown Phoenix.
Scottsdale is long and narrow, bordered by Phoenix and Paradise Valley to the west, Fountain Hills and the McDowell Mountains to the east, the East Valley cities of Tempe, Mesa and Chandler to the South, and traveling to North Scottsdale rises in elevation into Mountain Vistas, Tonto National Forest and sprinkled with towns like Cave Creek, Carefree and Rio Verde to the East.
Scottsdale is known for its approximately 300 golf courses, a hundred art galleries, fabulous destination resorts and conference centers, restaurants, night clubs, high end shopping and specialty shops. It is consistently named one of the top ten places for lifestyle and job opportunities and is one of the most vibrant cities in the country.
Outdoor enthusiasts love the hundreds of hiking trails throughout Scottsdale, boating at nearby marinas, equestrian trails throughout the mountain preserves, biking and golfing. Annual events held here include 21 NBA Spring Training teams each March, the PGA’s famous “Phoenix Open” each February, and the most well-attended Collector Car Auctions each January.
The Superbowl has been hosted several times in nearby Glendale, there is an annual Tempe Ironman, the College Fiesta Bowl and P.F. Chang’s Rock & Roll Marathon. Local sports include the Arizona State University Sun Devils, with professional sports including the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Cardinals, the Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Rising Soccer.
Schools. Scottsdale has an amazing Public School System. The most well known are the popular '3-C' Schools in Paradise Valley. We also have Phoenix Country Day in Paradise Valley, and many faith-based Schools that are amazing. North of the 101 are dozens of neighborhoods, golf courses and tennis communities. Known for its hiking and surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas. Typically 10 degrees cooler temperatures than most of the Phoenix Valley. Bordering Tonto National Forest, for unlimited trail riding, fishing, camping and water sports.
In Cave Creek you will find authentic rough and tumble saloons from the 1930’s, such as Harold’s, where you are likely to see motorcycles parked next to the horse someone rode in on.
